"CROSSED WIRES" STARS PETITE GLADYS WALTON.

“Hello—hello —get off, please, you’re on ‘Crossed Wires,’ ” Those who wax eloquent over the telephone service and protest that disconnections, misconnections and crossed connections are much more common than correct connections, will find the newest Universal attraction at the Municipal Theatre, “Crossed Wires,” which is to be shown to-night, an offering of more than average interest. The reason is that “Crossed Wires.’’ which stars Gladys Walton with a capable supporting cast and under the dii'ection of King Baggot, is a satire on telephone service and society pretense. How it can satirize both of them at once is one of the things that make it interestingAs Marcel Murphy, a “hello” girl with a passion for reading the Blue Book and imagining herself an inmate of its dream palaees. Miss Walton has a flapper characterisation that w’ill interest practically everyone. For those who battle with telephone service it will be a visualisation of a , figure which they have often wished to meet—with a purpose . George Stewart, brother of the popular Anita, plays the lead opposite Miss Walton, and Eddie Gribbon. Tom 8. Guise, Lillian Langdon, William Robert Daly. Kate Price, Eloise Nesbit and Louise Mason have other supporting roles. King Baggot not only directed the picture but -wrote the story also.
