(Received 16, 11.20 a.m.) Melbourne, Nov. 16. The Chief Secretary, Dr. Argyle, ‘ reiterates that the Government is determined not to re-employ the strikers as policemen, though no embargo will be placed on them as penal warders or in others capacities.. In any case the Government refuses to make positions for men who handed the city over to the mercy of criminals and hooligans.
