LONDON WOOL SALES.

ADVANCE ALL ROUND.

London, Nov. 14. The wool sales closed firm and the attendance was maintained throughout. Some 69,400 Australian and 97,140 New Zealand z were catalogued and practically all sold. The merinos section has been small and miscellaneous and the demand well maintained. Closing rates were par to five per cent, above September closing rates, and scoureds generally five per cent, above. Large offerings of crossbreds were keenly competed for, chiefly by the home trade, with useful support from France. Prices hardened throughout. Fine closed five per cent, above September, medium and lower sorts ten to fifteen per cent., scoureds five to seven and a-ha If per cent. Slipes met the keenest competition. Crossbred threequarterbred fully ten per cent, above September, coarse and faulty five per cent. The New Zealand clips named J.C. fetched 31jd, and Taratahi 30d. The next sales will be held on December 3. The quantities are not yet fixed.—(A. and N.Z.)

Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report that the London wool sales have closed with a firm market showing a hardening tendency. Yorkshire buyers have operated freely, the Continent also taking fair quantises. As compared with closing rates of last series, fine crossbreds advanced Id to l£d, medium crossbreds advanced Id to l£d, and coarse crossbreds advanced fd. CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE. RANG PRICES.
