WELLINGTON FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKETS. (Special to “Tribune.”} Wellington, Nov. 14. The Wellington fruitbrokers, comprising the firms of Laery and Co., Ltd., Geo. Thomas and Co., Ltd., Thompson Bros., Ltd., Townsend and Paul, and A. G. Wallace and Co., report:— The weather conditions being experienced are excellent, which is having a beneficial effect on prices generally. Shipments of quality apples are recommended. Early summer fruits are now coming to hand. Green peas arc more plentiful with prices easier. Tomatoes remain firm at recent rates. The’ following prices are being secured for fancy grade fruit:— Apples: Stunners, 12s to 14s; Delicious, 13s to 15s; Doughrrtys (Hawke’s Bay), 10s to Ils; Nelson, 6s to 8s; .Lord Wolseleys, 9s to 10s a bushel. Pears: Winter Coles (scarce), 14s to 16s; P. Barrys, 10s to 12s; Vicars, 4s 6d to 5s a bushel. Tomatoes (Nelson), Is 4d to Is 6d; Hutts, 2s 2d. Strawberries: Plentiful, 7d to Is a punnet. Gooseberries: 6s to 7s a half case. Cherries: Is 6d to Is 9d a lb. Green peas: Is Sd to Is lOd a peck. New potatoes: 2-ld to 22d a lb. Porkers: 9id a lb. Cucumbers: Hothouse, 7s to 10s a dozen. Cabbage: 15s to 16s; cauliflowers, 18s to 20s; parsnips, 20s to 255; carrots, 16s to 18s. Beetroot: 5s to 6s. Lettuce: 8s to 10 a banana case. Rhubarb: 6s to 8s a dozen. Asparagus: 8s to Ils a dqz. Eggs: Is 3d to Is 4d. Whitebait: 70s a tin. Walnuts: Bcl to lOd a pound. HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. Wool: Sales continue with strong demand and value of crossbred well maintained. Medium crossbred has improved and now quoted 10. per cent to 15 per cent dearer than last closing rates. Last week shows increased buying ox slipe wool. Fine crossbred has advanced 10 per cent, medium crossbred 10 per-cent to 15 per cent and coarse crossbred 5 per cent to 10 per cent. Eggs: ex Corinthic arrived in excellent condition, and free from breakages. Market is wall supplied, but sellers anticipate clearing this shipment at about 21s to 23s per long 100.

NAPIER ODDMENTS SALE. The monthly sale of sheepskins, hides, wool, tallow, etc., was held on Tuesday last, the usual buyers being in attendance. Hides experienced a dragging sale, at prices below last sale levels and butcher and country hides WQrc hard to quit. Calfskins of light weights and super quality were iu keen demand at prices slightly above last sale. The competition for sheepskins was very keen and increased prices were obtained. Bag wool and oddments sold exceptionally well, whilst tallow was on a par with last sale.
