A most popular and exceedingly pretty wedding was solemnised by the Rc’v/J. A. Asher in St. Paul’s Church, Napier, yesterday afternoon, when -Miss Ivy 1 solid Dolbel second daughter of Mr. and -Mrs. P. Dolbel, of Kedcliffe. Taradale. was married to Mr. John Alexander, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs T. Alexander, also of Taradale. Th© bride, who entered th© church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a dress of cream brocaded crepe-de-chine and radium lace sleeves, being neatly duped on the left side and tastefully finished with a silver tissue spray at the waist. A veil of silk net surmounted a coronet of orange blossoms, and she bore a beautiful bouquet of white watsenias and sweet peas nicely set in asparagus fern and finished with white satin streamers. The bride was attended by Misses A\ . and G. Dolbel. Al. Alexander, and Al. Orr. who wore da int ily attired in dresses of’shell pink crepe-d<'-chii)o with whit© radium lace panels and short sleeves. They also wore short veils of the same shade, with sprays of silver leaves and pale pink satin shoes. They carried bouquets of coloured rosebuds, carnations, and sweet peas, finished with satin streamers to tone. Mr. D. Alexander disclvirgo.l the duties of best man. and Air. M. Waterworth 'was groomsman. Mendelssohn’s Wedding March was played by Air. Roy Spackman as the wedding party left the church. Among those present were:—The bride’s mother, wearing a mole coloured brocaded maroon in costume, being handsomely braided and beaded. She also wore a smart nigger brown toque and a marabout of same shade. Airs. Alexander, navy blue satin generdine with gold and radium lace. Mrs. A. Lansdown, sister of the bride, fawn georgette laced white georgette, with white hat and marabout. Aliss E. Alexander, nattier blue jersey silk dress with picture hat. At the conclusion of the service the bridal party and friends of the family were entertained at the Foresters’ Hall, where a large number of guests were received by the bride’s mother. The toast of the health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed in a happy speech by the Rev. .J. A. Asher and was enthusiastically honoured. Other toasts were also honoured. The bridegroom and the bride’s father suitably replied. The young couple received the. congratulations of their many friends as well as their best wishes for their future happiness and prosperity, which were renewed when the happy couple left by car on an extended tour of the North Island. The bride wore as a travelling dress a fawn gabardine tailored costume finished with military braid and a jersey silk beaded jumper and a navy blue hat brimmed with floral spray. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a gold wristlet watch and the bridegroom’s present to the bride was a handsome ladies’ companion and to the bridesmaids gold armlets. • 'The newly-married couple were the recipients of many valuable and useful presents. The bouquets were artistically made and presented by Miss Winnie Anderson, oi Taradale. The bride and her family are well known throughout Hawke’s Bay and Auckland, and all who know them wisii the young couple good luck and prosperity in their new life. The afternoon was pleasantly spent in dancing to the music of Mrs. Keane’s or•hestra.
