A grand concert in aid of the Clive SchoolJibrary fund will be held in the Public JJall to c morrow at 8 p.m. Programme by specially selected concert party from Napier. The work of forming the Hutt road, a bon© of contention for many yearsj is to be commenced forthwith (says a Wellington telegram). The road-mak-ing plant has arrived from America. The road will have a bitumen surface. All local trades served hy the road are contributing. A light motor lorry, driven by Mr E. Downes and a motor car. driven hy Mr J. A. Simson, came into collision this afternoon at the intersection of St. Aubyn and Nelson streets. The vehicles seem to have run into each side on, probably in ,an endeavour to avoid impact, but neither was much damaged. The lorry had a spoko or two in one of the hind wheels broken and the rear mudguard of Mr Simson’s car was crumpled, but no one was hurt. The haunting fear of a big bill need deter no motorist in the future from having his car attended to. The “Autos” hay© mad© a sensational cut in prices which will be appreciated by car-owners all over the province.*
