HOCKEY DANCE. (Own Correspondent.)’ The Ladies’ Hockey Club held a successful plain and fancy dress bail on Monday evening. There was a large attendance, and the hall was tastefully decorated, and good music contributed to a iflcasant evening. FLOWER SHOW. The annual flower show under the auspices of St. Mary’s Church on Tues- j day* and was well organised, and brought, together a strong display of spring blooms. Various stalls raised a substantial amount. A BUSY DAY. After the spell of wet weather and sickness Waipukurau was full of country visitors on Tuesday, and the streets were lined with motor cars. Sale day has been dull during the past six weeks but brisk business was experienced yesterday. The flower show was an added attraction. SCHOOL BALL. A meeting of householders on Monday night made final arrangements for the annual school ball on the 20th inst. A strong ladies’ committee was appointed, and it was decided to hold a one-night gathering this year.
