REDUCED RATES FOR SCHOOLS. NAPIER COUNCIL’S DECISION. The Napier Borough Council last evening as the result of an application hy the Education Board for free water for the primary schools, decided to reduce the outstanding water accounts by one-third, from £l4O 4/4 to £93 9/6, Subject to the Board paying this amount, water will be supplied to the schools at the following rates:— Up to, but not exceeding in any year, a quantity equal to 250 gallons per child in attendance at each school at 2d per 1000 gallons. For any quantity exceeding the above at 5d per 1000 gallons. The Hastings Street School, which at present receives water free of charge, is to pay at the above rates.
