WEDDING.

SWINBURNE—CHAMBERS. A very popular wedding and one that excited much interest throughout Hawke’s Bay was celebrated in St. Luke’s Church, Havelock North, this afternoon, the contracting parties being Miss Helen Nancy (Nell) Chambers. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mason Chambers, of Tauroa, Havelock North, and Mr. John Frewen Swinburn. son 1 of Mrs. Swinburn and the late Canon Swinburn, of Waipawa and Hastings. The church was crowded and looked very pretty, the decorations being done by the friends of the bride. The service was a choral one, the officiating ministers being the Revs. J. B. Brocklehurst * and .Canon Maclean. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, made a charming picture in cream georgette over charmeuse, with gold tissue panels on either side and with a train of georgette and gold tissue coming straight from the sholders, and a plaited gold belt, th© whole being simply made and without trimmings but the effect was very pretty. She also wore a tulle veil and orange blossoms and carried a beautiful shower bouquet with colours to harmonise. She was attended by Miss .Margaret Kennedy, oi Gisborne; as chief bridesmaid und the Misses Beatrice Nelson ■ and Helen Coleman, nieces of the bride and bridegroom respectively. ~ x „ , Miss Kennedy wore a gold taneta dress with hat. slices and stockings to match, the hat being trimmed wits autumn tints, and carried a bouquet. Tbe little bridesmaids also -wore gold taffeta dresses and carried small posies. Mr. Dubrelle Morrah carried out the duties of best man. The bridegroom’s present to the chief bridesmaid was a pair of gold earrings and the little bridesmaids each received a gold bangle. After th© ceremony a reception was held at Tauroa, where Mr. and Mrs. Mason Chambers hospitably entertained some 200 guests, the usual toasts being duly honoured. The honeymoon is being spent on the West Coast, the mule’s going-away. dress being of grey gabardine trimmed with Liberty silk hat to match. The bride and bridegroom’s future home will be at Hatuma. The presents were numerous and costly, testifying to the great -esteem in which the young coiiple are held, and their many friends throughout the province will join in wishing them much joy and happiness in the , Amongst those present were Mi. and Mrs. Mason Chambers and Master Jack Chambers, Mrs..
