The market has declined further. Larger supplies of New Zealand mutton and lamb on hand. Market firm for chilled beef on account of Vessel being delayed. New Zealand frozen beef nominal. N.Z mutton—. Compared with last London rates merino prices were unchanged except :' for medium and inferior, which were } 5 per cent, lower. Crossbred irregular, 74 to 10 per cent, cheaper. FRUIT. Market improving for sound apples. English supplies plentiful at 200/ per ton. Little inquiry for imported. Chinese offered at .190/ per ton New Zealand prices nominal, 50/ to 52/ per quarter WAIPUKURAU STOCK SALE. The Hawke’s Bay stockbrokers report having held their weekly sale at Waipukurau yesterday, when a good ! yarding of both sheep and cattle was offered to a good attendance. Cattle met with fairly keen competition, and most lots were disposed of under the hamer. Breeding ewes sold at prices slightly better than recent sales, whilst lambs were fairly hard to quit. On the whole, the market showed a better tone.
