EXPLOSION AT BIRMINGHAM.
SEVENTEEN MJLN INJURED. (Received 6, 9.55 a.m.) London, March 5. Seventeen men were badly injured by an explosion at the Saltley gas works, Birmingham. A metal flange weighing a ton and a half was blown 130 yards and crashed through a stout roof. The firemen fought the fire for four hours, many being overcome by fumes.—(United Service.)
