FOR THE NEXT WAR.

NEW BRITISH TANK. AMPHIBIOUS AND WINGED. (Received 20, 10.30 a.m.) London, Jan. 19. The “Daily Chronicle’s” aeronautical correspondent says that in secluded workshops the Government’s research department has devised a destroyer tank Ivhich will be able to swim with the •4fleet yet can fly in the air at a high speed ,and can be used as a submarine if necessary. These uncanny monsters, which are called Tessaurions, will develop 300 horse-power. By the aid of great pneumatic tyred wheels they will also be .able to rush like super-tanks up a beach and can thus fight under four conditions —on the surface of sea and land, in the air and enter the water. —(A. and N.Z.)
