LIFE THREATENED IN AMERICA. New York, Jan. 6. M. Paderewski, who has returned to the concert stage, has been received with great acclaim. He. received a threat of death just before beginning his recital at Cleveland, and police guards were placed in ths hall, coat rooms and on the stage. Detectives are guarding his hotel and room and M. Paderewski is accompanied by police when he moves about. —(A. and N.
