The annual show of the Woodville A. and P. Association to be held this year on January 2.3 and 24. promises to eclipse all previous records. The prize money in all sections is liberal, and there are numerous excellent challenge cups and trophies. The horse events, leaping competitions and dog trial are worthy of good entry. Farmers generally are well provided with classes for all breeds of sheep, cattle, and pigs. The Jersey section is as usual very well catered for, and will no doubt meet with a liberal response. The mpther of the child that was abandoned on the lawn of the Salvation Army Home in "Wellington inquired at the Home on "Wednesday if the child had been taken, and when told that the police were looking for her she went down to the station and gave herself up. Appearing in the Magistrate’s Court the next day she was remanded until next Wednesday on a charge of unlawfully abandoning her infant child. Bail was granted in order that she might look after her other two children.
