WAIPUKURAU.
On Wednesday. 27th December, the wedding of Miss Verna M. Sowry and Mr. Geo. E. Ddwrick, both of Waipukurau. w r as solemnised at St. Andrew’s Church. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked very pretty in a cream crepe de chine dress, trimmed with pearls, and carrying a beautiful bouquet of pink and white flowers. Miss Ivy Fippard, of Hastings, was bridesmaid, -wearing a white crepe de chine dress and carrying a bouquet of pink flowers whilst Miss Violet Campbell (Napier) and Miss Leonie Flood (Wanganui) made pretty little flower .girls, wearing white silk dresses and blue and pink hats, both carrying pretty little baskets of flowers. Mr. Winton Cowry, brother of the Kffde. acted as best man. After the ceremony, the guests were entertained at the home of the bride’s parents, where the usual toasts were honoured.
The happy couple subsequently left for Auckland on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a smart coat frock of fawn, with hat to match.
