PUKEORA’S NEW YEAR.
FANCY DRESS PARADE AND
CONCERT. The patients and staff of the Pukeora sanatorium celebrated New Year’s Eve bv a fancy dress parade and concert. There were some 70 fancy dresses, and the judges, Dr. H. Short and Mr Anderson, made the following awards: — Most orginal costume: Mr Mugridge, as a bottle.
Men’s prize, best costume: Mr Morris, as a harem lady. Ladies’ prize, best costume: Nurse Spcnceley, as a Gipsy. Most original costume: Nurse Bullen as a Bon Bon. A tour of the various wards and grounds was made to give the bed patients some little amusement, after which a most enjoyable concert was held in the Red Cross lounge. Nurse Sap worth an fl Misses Fulton and Anderson presided at the piano. At the conclusion a very dainty supper was served by the matron, Miss White. The success of the evening was largely due to the efforts of Miss White, and she is to be congratulated on her achievement.
