At to-day’s meeting of the Hawke’s Bay County Council Mr. T. Mason Chambers said, with regard to the extension of electricity from Havelock to Clive and surrounding districts that, owing to the shortage of water, the Havelock Town Board would not guarantee 5000 units per month, and that under the circumstances, it would be absurd to ask the ratepayers to raise a loan and pay interest if they could not secure a continuous supply of electricity.
