The water police deny that the assault ou English seamen was due to the strike. It was just an ordinary drunken brawl over a trivial matter. All the members of the party were friendly befbre the row. The Ulimaroa sailed on Saturday afternoon with a new stokehold and deck-hand crew. It ir expected the Whangape will sail on Tuesday with volnteer seamen.—(A. and N.Z.)
