BANDIT HUNT AT TOULON.
CHIEF OF POLICE KILLED.
(Received* 11, 8.50 a.m.) Paris. Dec. 9. A two-hours* running fight across roofs after an armed handit wanted for robbery and murder, resulted in the death of the chief of police nt Toulon. He led the chase and wat shot from behind a chimney. Two others were wounded before the bandit was captured. —(A. and N.Z.)
