Crossbred meeting excellent demand from Yorkshire, and America taking fine medium sorts. Prices firm at last quotations. WELLINGTON' FRUIT AND PRODUCE (Special to ‘ Tribune.’’) Wellington, Dec. 6. The Wellington Fruit Brokers’ Association report on the Wellington fruit and produce market as follows:— Since our last report the market for! sound apples has advanced slightly. I Present holders of apples are recommended to market the remaining portion of their fruit. Tomatoes (Nelson) are coming forward more freely, with the market to-day rather firmer. Stone fruits are being enquired for with limited supply available. With the present favourable weather conditions the market should remain firm. The following values ruled to-day:— Apples: Americap Jonathans, Winesaps and Spitzonberg, 18/- to 20/-, local Stunners 9/6 to 11/-; Doughertys, 10/- to 12/- per bushel. Cherries: Greytown 8/- to 10/- per box of lOlbs.; Nelson, according to variety, 5/- to 12/6 per half case. Plums: Wright Early, 8/- to 9/-; cherry, 7/6 to 8/-; bronze, 7/- to 8/per half case. Peaches: Sneeds (crates), 12/6 to 14/-. per half case 8/6 to 9/6. Apricots: Small 7/- to 9/- per half case. Gooseberries: Large 6/6 to 7/6, small 4/- to 5/- per half case. Tomatoes: Firm coloured and ripe '9d to ll|d per lb.
Strawberries: Motueka lOd to 1/1, Auckland 1/4 to 1/6 per lb. Cucumbers: Hothouse 6/- to 8/- per dozen. Asparagus: 5/- to 7/- per dozen. Rhubarb: 6/- to 10/- per dozen. Potatoes: Pukekohc 9 - to 9/6, Otaki 6/- to 7/- per cwt. Green peas: 7 to 8 per rental bag. Dressed Pork: GJd. Egg.s: 1/1 to 1/2. Slight preference tor coloured 120 s to 12Is per cwt. Frozen Meat.—Ewe market firm. Lambs dull owing to absence of demand. Beef market well supplied but a little more demand. Butter prices are lower by Is to 6s per cwt since onr last wire, and market continues weak. STORTFORD LODGE STOCK SALE. The Stock Brokers’ Association report having held their usual weekly sale at Stortford Lodge yesterday when a good yarding of cattle and a small yarding of sheep came forward to a moderate attendance of buyers. The yarding of forward bullocks being of good quay.ty met with keen coinpotion. The following prices were realised:—Fat cows up to L‘s 5,-, 4yr. Hereford bullocks (good quality) £1 13/- to £’6 8/-. 3 and 4yr. P.A. bullocks £5, 3yr. P.A. steers £4 12/- to £4 19/-, yearling P.A. steers (good) £3 5/-, yearling Hereford heifers £2, empty cows £2 7 6, fat ewes 20/- to 21 7,2 th. ewes 21 '6, 4th. wethers 24/3, fat wethers 29/6, f. and f. ewes 15/1 to 19,6.
