EUROPEAN RECONSTRUCTION.
SCOPE OF BRITISH AID
(Received 28, 9.10 a.m.) London, November 27. Lieut.-Col. L. C. M. S. Amery, First Lord of the Admiralty, speaking at King’s College, referring to European reconstruction, said what he believed the present Government intended to do was to lend a helping hand on any practical lines to those whom they fought during the war. Apart from such necessary and limited help as Britain could give from time to time. Britain’s chief task should be not to concern herself so much with European reconstruction as with economic recovery and reconstruction of the British Empire.—(A. and N.Z.)
