HAVELOCK NORTH.

CRICKET CLUB MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Havelock Crisket Club was held last evening, Mr. J. Ball presiding over a good attendance. The report stated that the club had not had a very successful season financially owing to the members not paying their ground fees. It was decided that no member could be allowed to play until such fees were 1 paid in the future. The balance-sheet showed a deficit of 12s. The election of officers resulted as follows:-—Patron Rev. Waugh; president, Mr. P. ,J. Sefton; vice-presidents: Messrs T. Doyle, Mason Chambers, Preston Thomas, J. H. J oil; club captain. Mr. A. Webb: vice-captain, Mr. B. M. Cliff t; secretary, Mr. L. A. Goldfinch; delegates to Junior Association: Messrs C. Meads and L. Goldfinch; management committee; Messrs Cfifft, Goldfinch, Ball, Webb and Wake. The subscriptions were fixed at LI lor members over the age of 21 and lOrf for all those under 21. SWIMMING CLUB The annual general meeting of the Havelock North Swimming and Lite Saving Club was held in the Town Board office on Wednesday, 27th inst. The chairman, Mr. E. F. Leicester, presided over a good attendance. The mam business ol the meeting was the election of office bearers wiiiMi resulted as follows: Patron : Sir George Hunter, president: Mr. T. Mason Chambers; vice presidents: Drs. Reeve and Felkin, Messrs B. Chambers. E. Doyle, F. L. Bone, E. C. Clarkson, V. It. Roach, H. A. Mossman, W. McKenzie, F. Nelson. H. R. Elder, P. Me. Carthy, P. Hunter, C. Hampton, J. Phillips, J. A. Fryer, Maurice Chambers. J. R. McLennan, Tom Graham, D. Nairn, Canon McLean. Mesdames ]). Williams, A. A. Shield. Miss McHardy.* Mr. W. Nimon was re-appoint-ed club captain and Mr. Slayden Fryer was appointed deputy captain. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. F. Eagle for his valued services as secretary and treasurer and Mr. F. J. F. Leicester was appointed as his successor,.as the former had now taken up business in Waipawa. The following additional members of the general committee were appointed: Messrs P. J. Sefton, E. F. Leicester, .1. Young, and H. Miller. It was agreed that the subscriptions should lie, seniors 3s, ladies 2s, juniors (under 18) Is 6d. On behalf of, the baths executive Mr. Sefton thanked the swimming club for the splendid * they had worked "hand in hand with the executive. Mr. E. C. Leicester, in reply, stated that as chairman of bodies he would like to assure the executive that they could always rely on the co-operation of the* Swimming Club. He stated that both the club and executive were working for a com non object, that being the completion of the baths. A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mrs. Nimon and sons for the splendid offer of a five guinea cup. There is no doubt whatever that the swimming enthusiasts of Havelock —'and elsewhere too — are anxiously awaiting the completion of the baths, so that they can have the benefit of a full seasons’ sport.
