IN BANKRUPTCY.

PETER PANAPA. A meeting of creditors in the estate of Peter Panapa, a native labourer and shearer, was called at the Hastings Court-house this morning by Mr R. Bishop, Deputy-Official Assignee, but no creditors were present. The liabilities amounted to £948 (unsecured creditors) and the assets were nil. The bankrupt, in his personal statement, published on September 22, said that he had no immediate prospect of paying, and he had no offer to make. Bankrupt, under examination by Mr Mr Bishop, said that he, with his wife and child, lived rent free in a 6 or 7- . roomed house belonging to the family. The house was also occupied by nieces, a blind sister, and other members of the family The rooms were all tenanted. He had no prospect of employment. The meeting lapsed for want of a quorum.
