Joyce, commander oi the British schooner Gamma, has been need from the charge of violating the Volstead Act, the Federal jury refusing to indict him, holding that the Gamma was utii side the th ve-mile limit when seized. This is fhe first court action favouring a defendant and fellows closely on the decision ol Cabinet imt to permit the seizure of ships outside the threemile limit.
