The Rev. G. C. Crutekshank, vicar of Whangarei, has been offered charge of Nelson Cathedral, but has declined. The position has fallen vacant owing to the fact that Dean Weeks is going to Australia. The ground for Mr. Cruickshank’s refusal is that there is still work for him to do in Whangarei. In the ordinary course of events, the Vicar of Nelson would become the Dean of Nelson.
Mr. Charles E. Robertson, formerly of the staff of the “Southland Times,” and now associate-editor of the “NewZealand Farmer,” has accepted a position with Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., Wellington. He was horn 85 years ago in London. He emigrated to New Zealand in the early days and was a resident of No Town for about 50 years, following the occupation of a gold miner. Two years ago he had to give up active work and entered the hospital.
