HASTINGS RUGBY SUB-UNION.

Mr. M. E. Wood presided at the usual weekly meeting of the sub-union last evening, when Messrs. S. McKee, A. Alderman. L. Mosen, R. M. Hewitt’, and H. Brown (secretary) were also £ resent. Apologies were received from lessrs. J. A. Fraser and D. O’Brien. The business was routine. The final re-union of tile season was then held and a most successful social gathering resulted, over 100 players of the game being present. An excellent programme was submitted, which was contributed to by Messrs. Bryant, Craig. Averill. Pipe. Poppelwell, Knox and the M.A.C. orchestra. During the evening, the chairman thanked the players, management committee and referees for helping to make the season such a great success. Mr. G. A. Maddison presented the Hastings seniors with the senior competition shield and he congratulated them on their win. Mr. A. Kirkpatrick responding. Mr. A. C. Norris then presented the M.A.C. third grade team with the Sachs-John-ston Shield, Mr. Mahunga replying on behalf of the team. Mr. A. Alderman proposed the health of the junior players, Messrs. H. Symonds and R. M. Hewitt responding. After partaking of an excellent supper, the assemblage broke up, with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
