ANCIENT MINE WORKINGS.

IN RHODESIA. Capetown, Sept. 25. A discover?’ of considerable scientific importance was made in Southern Rhodesia. A skeleton of an ancient mine worker was found in a mine with a stone hammer in position beside the face of a gold reef, on which tho man had worked. This may solve problems which have baffled investigators for years in connection with ancient mine workings in Rhodesia, and suggests the possihilit?’ that the remains and ancient mines arc of much more recent date than hitherto supposed. —(A. and N.Z.)
