The Senate passed the Tariff Bill by 43 votes to 28. It now’ goes to the President.—(A. and N.Z.) [A Vancouver cable on September 13th, stated that the new American tariff, described as the highest that so far has existed, is expected to get the President’s signature within a week. The wool schedules run from 30c. to 32c. a pound. Steel remains’ at 8 per cent, ad valorem, and meat at 20 per per cent, ad valorem.]
