THREE MOBILISATION CENTRES. CLOTHES AND EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE. Wellington, Sent. 20. The Defence Department will accept offers from married officers and n.c.o.’s, but all others must be single. Trentham will not be utilised as a base camp. According to statements in local papers there will be three centres for mobilisation —Auckland, Palmerston North and Christchurch. There are plenty of clothes and equipment available 'and everything is said to lie smoothly under weigh. NEARLY 3000 ENLISTMENTS. IN CENTRAL MILITARY COMMAND Palmerston N., Sept. 19. The Central Military Command enlistments. embracing the New Plymouth, Napier, Palmerston and Wellington areas, total to midday 181 officers. 9 nurses and 2578 other ranks. The great majority are ex-soldiers. In other centres the number of volunteers are given as under:— Wellington 1800 Auckland 1164 Christchurch 999 Dunedin 300 Invercargill 244 Nelsoa 200 Gisborne 140 Blenheim 134
