FIRE AT HAWERA.

Hawera, Sept. 18. Early on Sunday morning, during the he’ght of a southerly gale. Broadway restaurant, occupied by Anthony Urlich. was discovered on fire. The brigade turned out sharply and found that the fire had a good hold. They effected a fine save. The restaurant is in the middle of a block of wooden buildings ajid. with the gale blowing, the fight might have assumed serious proportions. The front portion of the restaurant was gutted and the back damaged by smoke and water. The insurances are not available. To be sure, insure with the Alliance Assurance Company, Ltd.
