THE HILL STAKES. GLOAMING 9.0, BEAUFORD 9.7. INTEREST IN THE RACE. Sdnycy, Sept. 15. The fact that Beaufort carries an extra seven pounds over a longer distance than when they previously met adds to the interest in to-day’s Hill Stakes at Rosehill. Gloaming is weighted at 9.0 and Beauford 1.7. The weather outlook is parlous. Rain continues and the going will probably bo keavy. [Arrangements have been made for the result of the Hill Stakes 1o be cabled to the “Tribune," and it will be posted outside the office at Hastings to-night.] WANGANUI RACES. SECOND DAY’S RESULTS. Wanganui, Sept. 16. The Wanganui Jockey Club’s meeting is being continued to-day in fine weather. Results:— ' Debutante Stakes.—Queen Marcho 1, Onifino 2, Ballymena 3. All started. Won by a length and a quarter, two lengths separating second and third horses. Timo, 1.3 3-5. Hurdles: Otaura Kid 1, Matatua 2, Spook 3. All started. Won by half a head, a length and a half separating second and third horses. Time, 3.0 1-5. Steeplechase.—Tatton Park 1. Polthogue 2, War Loan 3. Scratched: Whipcord. Won by two lengths. 100 yards between second and third horses. Time, 6.0. Eclipse Stakes.—Trespass 1. Thespian 2, Winning Hit 3. All started. Won by three-quarters of a length, a half a neck separating second and third horses. Time 5( 1-5".
