LOVE—HONOUR AND-.

TIME TO CUT OUT “OBEY.” New York, Sept. 15. The House of Deputies of the Epsicopal Church, convened at Portland, Oregon, passed a law of the church omitting the word “obey” from the marriage ceremony. The House of Bishops has already approved the measure, which becomes operative three years hence. The change is one of many tions adopted for the prayer book. The basic argument for the omission of the world “obey” was that this is the twentieth century, ami that the idea of a wife obeying a husband had no place to-day.—(A. and N.Z.)
