FEDERATED BUTCHERS’ CONFERENCE.

REMITS ADOPTED. Dunedin, September 14. At a conference of the New Zealand Federated Butchers’ Association of Workers, held here yesterday and today, the following remits were adopted :— 'J hat the union endeavour to secure legislation to compel wooden floors to be put on top of concrete floors in those shops where concrete fluors are laid down. That ihe Federation take into consideration the securing, by legislation, of a compulsory half-holiday from 12 noon. ■ That the Federation should immediately get into conimuuication with other federated and unfederated shop assistants, with a view to forming one federation of shop assistants for the Dominion. That the Federation should consider the question oi the publication of a butchers’ journal, either quarterly or half-yearly, or as the conference shall decide.
