RACING RESTRICTION.

RESENTED BY TROTTING CLUB. Wellington, Sept. 13. At the annual meeting of the Wellington Trotting Club the chairman, Mr R. A. Armstrong, said never ■was there a time in the history of sport in the Dominion when there was a greater need of sport-lovers to get together. The forces of intolerance were organised and agressive. If those opposed to sport were allowed to gain the ascendency in Parliament there would be no hope of securing facilities to provide for natural expansion. So far as trotting was concerned, supporters had to look to the legislature for justice and relief from the disabilities caused by the shortage of permits for racing days. It would be necessary for sports to stand together to secure the return of a broadminded Parliament.
