A plot aiming at the overthrow of Soviet rule before the elections is reported to have been discovered. Those concerned include many influential people. Numerous airests have been made. Peasants m many districts are refusing to pay the bread tax unless free elections are guaranteed. Troops have been sent to deal with them.—(A. and N.Z.) THE ARGENTINES GENEROSITY z Buenos Ayres. Sept. 12. The Argentine Government has sent a message to Congress asking for authorisation to lend Russian Soviets 5,000,000 pesos, repayable without interest when circumstances permit (A. and N.Z.)
