"ENEMY ALIENS.”

DISABILITIES REMOVAL BILL. (Special to “Tribune.”) Parliament Buildings. Sept. 13. The War Regulations Continuance Act, 1920. and other enactments, imposed certain disabilities on those classes of British subjects who are by virtue of birth or some other reason within the definition of the term “enemy alien” and “person of enemy origin.” It is felt the time has passed which rendered necessary the special restrictions, and that ordinary safeguards against disaffection are now sufficient. In accordance with this view the War Disabilities Removal Bill which was read the first time in the House this afternoon, restores to such British subjects full privileges, and provides that no British subject, whether bv birth, naturalisation, or otherwise, “shall hereafter be deemed to be an alien enemy, or person of enemy origin. The bill will meet in particular the case of Syrians who, while technically deemed in the past to be enemies, have alwavß been friendly aliens. Similarly it will meet the case of naturalised Germans, who have been good citizens, and in many instances had song killed on service for the Empire.
