DIRECT WIRELESS.
WITH OLD COUNTRY. (Special to “Tribune.”) Wellington, Sept. 12* There is no announcement yet ready, but apparently the Government is considering the desirability of entering into the wireless scheme in which Australia and South Africa have already become partners. The subject was raised in the House to-day, when Mr Sidey reminded the Postmaster-General that South Africa and Australia were establishing direct wireless communication with the Old Country, and asked whether the Government had considered following on similar lines in New Zealand. The Hon. J. G. Coates: I have, and the Government has given considerable consideration to the matter. The Government is now negotiating in that connection. I regret that at present lam unable to give the honourable member further information than that.
