CHINA AND JAPAN.
BANDITS AT TSING-TAO. MENACE THE CITY. New York, Sept. 10. The Chicago “Tribune’s” Tsing-tao correspondent reports that the Japanese military authorities have despatched an armed force of 300 in Chinese territory in a final effort to rid the country adjacent to Tsing-tao of armed Chinese bandits, who are menacing the city and handicapping the Japanese evacuation in accordance witri the Washington treaty. A Chinese bandit force of 3000 is hovering about the city awaiting the withdrawal of the Japanese in order to start pillaging the rich district.—(A. and N.Z.)
