COMMITTEE REGI MES INQUIRY. PENNYBYLVANIAN SYSTEM FAVOURED. Wellington, Sept. 12. The special committee of the .BoaH of Health, inquiring into the question of venereal disease resumed its sitting! .today. Dr. W. Young, considered that th! free clinics had not been an entire sue cess because such a large proportion el patients cease treatment before the] are cured. He recommended the adop tion of the Pennsylvanian system ii which there is compulsory treatment This treatment should be for a perio! not exceeding six months’. Notificatiei should be only made use of when a pa tient omits to attend for treatment be fore a cure is obtained. The giving of n wrong name and address should b made a, penal offence. He suggest* better opportunities Im* given to mid wives to study venereal disease.
