McOONACHY BEHIND TOP NOTCHERS. London, Sept. 10. The ‘‘Sunday Express” states that McConachy is better than George Gray, but far below the standard of our first-class performers. He could not be at all dangerous to them, even if he made all possible use of the red ball. The rapid way Newman, Smith and Faulkner made large breaks was an eye-opener to him.—(A. and N,Z.)
