TELEPHONE COMFORT AT LAST By the use of this simple attachment. THE ’WHISPERING MOUTHPIECE’ THE ‘WHISPERING MOUTHPIECE’ No telephone is complete without this simple inexpensive attachment and nobody who uses such an instrument frequently can afford to be without it. THE WHISPERING MOUTHPIECE FOR TRANSMITTER. The High Efficiency Mouthpiece is built upon scientic lines, to allow the speaker when holding a telephone conversation to speak in low tones ami at the same time give good results to his listener. This device consists of a small parabolic reflector inserted in the transmitter mouthpiece. It is only necessary in using this device to unscrew the old mouthpiece and put on the new one when the telephone is easilv equipped with the high efficiency device, enabling secrecy in conversation and low tones may be used sometimes even to the point of a whisper. The theory of this device is that the parabolic reflector acts to concentrate the sound waves on the transmitter diaphragm, thus enabling the lower tone to do the same work as formerly done bv the loud spending. Another advantage of this device is its sanitary feature. It is well known that the present transmitter with its mouthpiece arranged with its protecting screen over the diaphragm .hole, is a trap for dirt and dust and infection and is very insanitary. All these troubles are eliminated in the high efficiency mouthpiece since it mav lie readily washed and being smooth is easily keot clean. The clear white polished glass surface bespeaks cleanliness and invites a doser approach to the transmitter in thereby increasing the efficiency and ease of conversation. The Whispering Mouthpiece should be boiled for one minute as often as is necessary to insure complete cleaning when in constant use.
