"THE FOUR-STARRED ENSIGN.”

We have received from the publishers a. copy of “The Four-Starred Ensign,’’ the song which, nightly encored during the Dominion tour of “Marama,” nmde a thrilling climax bo Pakeha ana Maori patriotic sentiment in that unique comedy-opera. By special recommendation of the ’of fklucation this number was recently published with ' 'tonic sol-fa notation in the “N.Z. School Journal, and many teachers are making use of the song for school concerts and at the weekly salutation of the Hag. With its inspiring words and swinging melody, there is no reason why “The Four-starred Ensign” should not rank wih “Rule Britannia,” “The Star Spangled Banner,” and similar songs that are wrapped up in the history of nations, and, young as New Zealand is. it is quite time she had national songs of her own. Certainly, no Dominion home should be without a copy of Messrs. Ribbands and Don’s successful composition. *
