A DISTINGUISHED METHODIST.

ARRIVAL AT SYDNEY

(Received 6, 11.40 a.m.) Sydney, April 6. Rev. F. D. Blakeslee, a distinguished Methodist from the United States, who was present at Abraham Lincoln’s last speech, arrived in Sydney from China on a tour of the wor’d. He said that China would have to give up internecine strife if Washington resolutions were to be of any use. He added that prohibition in the United States would never be repealed as the benefits were proving much, greater than the most enthusiastic ever predicted.—(A. and N.Z.)
