A large dredge is being constructed at Shannon, to be used in cuttinar the Craw Creek straight from tho railway line to the Tokomaru Stream, thus taking the water away quickly. Thirty thousand feet of Oregon pine will be used in constructing the dredge. 10,700 feet of which has elready arrived (states the Levin “Chronicle”). The dredge will measure approximately 100 feet by 20 feet. The machinery will weigh about 80 tons, and win consume aniout two tons of coal per day.
