LESS THAN 1000 FAIL TO VOTE

Wellington, April 4. The result of the ballot of members of the Post and Telegraph Association proposal to affiliate with the Alliance of Labour is as follows:—Number of voting papers issued, 7317- number of votes cast, 6390. For Affiliation 43f9 Against 1973
Informal 38 Number of votes (three-fifths of the votes polled) required to carry the proposal, 3811.
The P. and T. executive will meet to take the necessary steps to effect affiliation with the Alliance.
