Mr and Airs E. E, Bott and family left Waipawa on Monday for a trip to England. Mr and Airs J. Henney are leaving Waipawa this week to take jup their residence in Dannevirke, and nt the evening .service of the Methodist Church on Sunday last the presentation of a rug was made to Air Henney as a token of

the appreciation of the congregation for the work done by Air Henney for the church. Harvest Festival services were held in the Methodist Church on Sunday last, and in keeping with the festival, the church was adorned with the season’s fruit, flowers and vegetables. The musical portion of the service and the address by the Rev AV. S. Neal was appropriate to the oes asion. A meeting of retailers is to be held on Thursday night to make arrangements for the Easter holidays. The quarterly meeting of the Oddfellow’s Lodge is to be held on Friday evening. The annual appeal for funds is being made on Saturday on behalf of* the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Home, and doubtless will meet with n good response for so worthy an object. Alias Gray has been appointed local organiser.

A bazaar and sale of work is being held on Saturday in connection with Hie Methodist Church.

A football match has been arranged for April 8 between a Hastings team and the High School Old Boy’s football team. The formation of the latter team makes a second senior team for. the town.
