FACTORIES CLOSE FOR 6 MONTHS

Hamilton, Alarch 28. The New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company has decided to close its dried milk factories at Waitoa, Waharoa and Te Awamutu, for six months’ from April 7th, owing to the fact that sufficient powder has been manufactured to meet trade requirements until the new season’s make is available.

Air William Goodfellow, managing director, said that when at Home recently, he found large quantities of powder being used and he considered the industry had a great future. He also saw indications of the butter market being firm. Prices were more •likely to advance than recede. Anchor brand was selling at 192 s per cwt.
