FAGING THE CONFERENCE
PARIS PRESS IRRITATED
(Received 28. 11.10 a.m.)
London, March 27,
The French press gives prominence io the “carpeted” journalists’ incident.
According to the Paris correspondent of the “Times,” Al. Poincare formerly interrogated Bassis Havas a correspondent, but the action generally is attributed to Earl Curzon, who was present at the interview.
Parisian newspapers are surprised and irritated at Earl Curzon’s action.
The other correspondent, “Pertinax,” was privately questioned. | A cable yesterday stated that the Near East Conference, resenting intimate accounts published in Paris newspapers surpassing official communiques took the unprecedented step of summoning a correspondent, and questioning another privately regarding the sources from which tiiey obtained their information.]
