THE PICTURE HOUSES.

MUNICIPAL. There wa® quite a good audience at the Hastings Municipal Theatre on Saturday evening, when the management presented the big Universal Jewel production, directed by Tod Browning, “No Woman Knows,” being the amazing story of “Fanny Herself,” by Edna Ferber. The picture is vastly superior to anything seen for some time, pathos and human being equally divided. Mabel Julienne Scott gives a .splendid interpretation of Fanny, the girl who never lost her love for her unworthy brother. Grace Marvin, as Molly Brandeis, was a real .mother, and her acting was perfect. The supporting cast all played up well combining to make a picture well worth while. The remainder of the programme was taken up by Topical News, a Christie comedy, and a further instalment of the serial, “Do or Die.” The same series will be screened again this evening, when those who enjoy seeing a real good and wholesome picture should attend. COSY DE LUXE. There were two features on the programme presented at the above picture palace on Saturday evening, “The Dangerous Moment,” starring the beautiful Carmel Myers, and “The Secret of the Hills,” a special Vitagraph production with Antonio Moreno in the stellar role. Both are pictures of exceptional quality, and the two stars are seen at their best. The supporting items were well up to standard and completed a good series. The same will be ccreened again this evening.
