STARS FOR AUSTRALIA
After ton years’ association witji the firm of Messrs. J. and N. Tait. Mr. .E. J. Gravestock has severed his connection with them, and will in future direct his own concert enterprises throughout Aus-
tralia and New Zealand Mr. Gravestock is well known throughout Australia and Zealand in musical circles, having hfid charge of the various concert attractions brought out by Messrs. Tait, all of which have met with such conspicious success during the past few years.
Mr. Gravestock first came to Australia ten years ago as secretary and treasurer with the Quinlan Grand Opera Company, on the occasion of their first tour, at the conclusion of which ho joined up with Messrs. J. and N. Tait. Previous to leaving England he had ten years’ experiem'C with one of the leading concert; agents. With regard to his policy for the future, Mr. Gravestock has arranged with the well-known London concert enterpreneurs Messrs. Lionel Powell and Holt, who are undoubtedly the foremost concert impresarii of to-day, controlling in England the greatest of the world's musical celebrities, headed by Dame Nellie Melba, for the exploiting of famous stars that are under their control, in Australia and New Zealand. The first of those will be the distinguished New Zealander Miss Rosina Buckman, who has now won her way to a star position in England at the present time.
’ Miss Buckman will commence her Australasian tour in New Zealand in June next, and will be accompanied by her husband. Maurice. D’Oisly, the eminent English tenor, who was hero with the Quinlan Opera Company on their last tour.
